Montreal with Love
Tracy Biddle in collaboration with Emergency Communities present From Montreal with Love, a hurricane victims relief fundraiser.
Katrina was one of the worst disasters to hit the United States in decades. In its wake, millions of people are left without homes, food or shelter.
The crisis is ongoing.
Laura Paul, a volunteer hailing from Montreal, is in New Orleans now, working in collaboration with Emergency Communities - a grassroots, on-the-ground relief organization that started the Made with Love Cafe and Grill. The volunteers have already served over 100,000 meals to thousands of returning residents. They provide food, clothing, and comfort for returnees from this awful storm. But more importantly, they provide a safe, warm space for the community - a space filled with compassion, love and hope.
From Montreal With Love is a one night event that will gather Montreal's better known talent to raise money for Emergency Communities. It is common knowledge that New Orleans plays a significant role in the history of music in North America. The very rhythm we tap our feet to today, regardless of what kind of music it is, was born from this very place. How better to pay tribute to New Orleans than by gathering some of Montreal's best for one night of music
